Hyundai Blue Link and Amazon Alexa Partner to Provide Greater Convenience

Control your Hyundai from the comfort of your home

Hyundai is making ownership more convenient than ever before by connecting cars with homes through Amazon Echo and a new Blue Link skill for Amazon Alexa, now available for Alexa-enabled devices and Hyundai vehicles that are equipped with Blue Link’s second-generation technology.

Proud owners of the Hyundai IONIQ can start or stop the charge of their vehicles with simple voice commands, in addition to other various functions that are also available to other Hyundai models, including:

Remote engine start with climate control
Remote door lock and unlock
Remote horn and lights

What would an interaction with Alexa and Blue Link look like? Here are some examples:

Owner: “Alexa, ask Blue Link to start charging my IONIQ.”
Alexa: “Request for remote charging your IONIQ has been sent.”

Owner: “Alexa, tell Blue Link to start my car at 80 degrees.”
Alexa: “Request for remote starting your car with climate control has been sent.”

Hyundai owners can take advantage of new Alexa capabilities by enabling the Blue Link skill in their Alexa app on iOS, Android, and Fire tablets, and then link their existing Blue Link account within the Alexa app.

The Blue Link skill for Amazon Alexa is available in vehicles with second-generation Blue Link technology, which includes the following models:

2016 Azera
2016 Tucson
2016 Sonata (SE, Sport Limited, Sport 2.0T, Limited 2.0T, Eco 1.6T)
