Going, Going, Gone: Viper 25th Anniversary Limited-Edition Models Sell Out

If you haven’t already acquired one of the special-edition 2017 Viper 25th Anniversary models, your chances just got slimmer: Dodge has announced that the limited-edition run has totally sold out. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t still reasons to celebrate during this final year of Viper production.

The 206 special-edition Vipers sold out within five ordering days, although many took just minutes. The quickest seller was the Viper 1:28 Edition ACR, an homage to the current production car single lap record set by Randy Post in a 2016 Viper ACR at the Laguna Seca Raceway. Featuring a black exterior and painted rear wing with striking red ACR stripes, all 28 units sold out within 40 minutes.

Taking second place was the VoooDoo II Edition ACR, modeled after the original 2010 VoooDoo edition. All 31 units found new homes within two hours. The Viper Snakeskin Edition GTC, GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR, and Dodge Dealer Edition ACR rounded out the lineup of limited-edition models.

The good news is that there’s still time to take home the most limited edition of all through the industry-first “1 of 1” Viper customization program. Not only can you choose from a staggering array of options--including 16,000 exterior colors, 24,000 custom stripe colors, 11 wheel options, and 16 interior trims-- but when you add in the seven aero packages, three brake packages, and four suspension options, there are more than 50 million ways to customize a 2017 Viper. As an added incentive, no two customers can order the same configuration.

Our favorite aspect of the new Vipers here at MotorWorld | MileOne Autogroup (one they all have in common): an all-aluminum 8.4-liter V-10 engine capable of 645 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to earn these Vipers the title of most torque of any naturally aspirated sports car engine, a fitting achievement for the end of one of the most iconic model lines in American history.
