2015 Jeep® Compass

New for 2015

Not much has changed between last year’s Compass and this one. Rather than a removable flashlight, the 2015 Compass sports a dome light instead. In terms of colors, Eco Green Pearl is now available, a nice earthy green. And for those interested in a navigation package, one is available mid-trim with the Latitude.

Ready for Adventure

When it comes to the Jeep name, drivers expect two things: to be able to haul things, and to haul those things off the beaten trail. Even though it’s a compact SUV, the 2015 Jeep Compass is still able to deliver on both counts.

Powertrain and Performance

There are two ways you can power your Compass: a 2.0L World Engine (FWD) that offers 158 hp and 141 lb-ft of torque, or the 2.4L Dual VVT (with available six-speed transmission), capable of delivering 172 hp and 165 lb-ft of torque. With the latter engine, your Compass will let you tow up to 2,000 lbs.

Features and Trims

The 2015 Jeep Compass starts at $18,995** and comes in three trims: Sport, Latitude, and Limited, as well as two Limited Edition versions: the Altitude and the High Altitude. Standard Compass features include air conditioning, cruise control, Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Hill Start Assists, and a four-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo with auxiliary jack/MP3 compatibility.

Step up one trim level to the Latitude to get yourself heated front seats (perfect for those early morning drives), power heated foldaway mirrors, power door locks, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio control. One more trim level gets you to the Limited and earns you a larger engine, leather-trimmed seating, a six-way power driver’s seat, automatic climate control, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen display.

Optional features and equipment include a backup camera, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, power windows and keyless entry to the lower trim lines, and don’t forget the Freedom Drive packages. Freedom Drive I gets you 4WD capability with all sorts of features to help you off the road, such as Electronically Controlled Coupling (ECC), which gives power to the wheels that need it most, and Brake Traction Control. The Freedom Drive II package adds Hill Descent Control (HDC) makes your Compass capable of handling deep snow, mud, and up to 19 inches of water.***

Design

Not much has changed when it comes to looks between the 2014 and 2015 Compass. You’ll find the iconic 7-lotted grille on the front of the Compass, which bears softer lines (similar to the Grand Cherokee). The 2015 Compass is available in eight colors, which range from black and white to red, green, and blue, to a trio of metallic (Maximum Steel, Billet Silver, and Granite Crystal).

Inside, you’ll find fabric seats with stylish accent stitching, and soft-to-the-touch materials on the center armrest and door armrests. A power express open/close sunroof comes standard at the High Altitude trim, and two articulating liftgate speakers (great for tailgating) are optional at the Latitude, High Altitude, and Limited trims.

Standard at the Latitude and Limited trims, the Compass boasts a fold-flat passenger seat, which is perfect for hauling stuff, especially when you combine it with the 60/40 fold-flat 2nd row, available on all trims.

Safety

You’re driving a Jeep, so chances are that you’ll be taking it off road from time to time. That’s why the Compass offers a wide variety of safety features to set your mind at ease, including six advanced airbags to protect you from any angle, Electronic Stability Control to help you if it detects over- or under-steering, Electronic Roll Mitigation to help you prevent rollovers, and much more.

Bottom Line

The 2015 Jeep Compass is a great choice for anyone interested in a compact SUV that gives you just what you need to have an adventure.
