2017 Honda Civic Spotlight
Featuring the all-new Civic Si and Type R
The 2017 Honda Civic imparts a level of style, performance, and technology previously reserved only for midsize cars. Over the years, the Civic has built up a reputation as one of the sportiest compact cars available, and the current generation doesn’t disappoint. Honda put particular emphasis on performance with more powerful engines that are also more efficient than before.
And with the introduction of two exciting new Civic models—the Si and Type R—the reliable Civic is set to take this year by storm. MotorWorld | MileOne Autogroup has more details on them for you here.
What you can expect from the standard Civic
Base Civic models use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with Honda’s i-VTEC variable valve timing system. With 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque, it’s the most powerful engine ever offered in a Civic base model. Standard equipment on this model includes automatic climate control, taillights with integrated LED light bars, automatic headlights, tilt-and-telescopic steering column, 5.0-inch LCD screen, and more. The Civic is also available with Honda’s latest Display Audio infotainment system, which includes Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone compatibility.
The Civic Type R
The Civic Type R's features are sure to please. Wondering what sets this model apart? For starters, Honda is including a carbon-fiber-look body kit with a red accent line, extra vents, and a large rear spoiler. It receives a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and you can expect an impressive 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. You'll be able to alter your steering and throttle response when you choose between three driving modes: Comfort, Sport, and +R.
The Civic Si
The Civic Si comes equipped with a 205-horsepower turbocharged engine coupled with an Adaptive Damper System (ADS), which combine for an exhilarating driving experience. The sleek lines of the Si—from its aggressive sport bumper to its Center-Outlet Sport Exhaust System—make it stand out on any road. Customizable driver-focused displays like a boost gauge, rev-limit indicator, and 7-inch Display-Audio Touch-Screen complement other useful interior features, like heated front seats, Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink®, and Radio Data System (RDS).
