SCHEDULE TEST DRIVE
Overview
The current-generation Ridgeline debuted in 2017. Characterized as one of the few trucks on the market that combined rugged practicality with refinement and fuel efficiency, it quickly garnered attention from a variety of drivers. Thanks to its unibody construction and an independent rear suspension, the Ridgeline offers a smoother, more controlled ride than almost any truck out there, and its generous passenger and cargo space make it truly unique among truck models.
The Ridgeline is available in five trims (plus a Black edition) and RTL trim shown.
The Perfect Ride for…
The driver who is looking for a capable mid-sized truck that also boasts a comfortable cabin and numerous creature comforts. The Ridgeline is the perfect choice if you plan on spending most of your time on the pavement but may need its hauling capabilities from time to time.
Drive & Handling
The 2019 Ridgeline is a capable mid-size pickup that offers a satisfying driving experience in terms of both performance and comfort. Equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, the Ridgeline's powertrain is sturdy and more than capable of taking on the competition. Cranking out 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, the front-wheel-drive models can tow a maximum of 3,500 pounds while all-wheel-drive models are rated at 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. In other words, you shouldn't have a problem towing a small trailer or an average-sized speedboat.
Thanks to advances in engine performance and fuel efficiency, the 2019 Honda Ridgeline enjoys an EPA-estimated 26 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg in the city.*
Key Features
Honda Sensing® Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Safety is always a primary concern when purchasing a new vehicle. Luckily, the available Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assistance features keeps you in control and on course. Including the Collision Mitigation Braking System™, Road Departure Mitigation System, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist System, the suite may be something you'd expect to find in a car or SUV rather than a truck, but it provides reassurance and proof that the Ridgeline is a unique breed.
Multifunctional Truck Bed
The Ridgeline's truck bed was designed with minimal wheel-well housing, which makes room for more cargo. Add a lockable 7.3-cu-ft In-Bed Trunk® to the mix and you have a pickup with extra hauling capacity. To add to the Ridgeline's bed utility, an industry-first Truck Bed audio system is available and allows you to listen to your favorite music outside; an additional available 150W/400W in-bed outlet plug allows you to plug in tools or a television for top-tier tailgating.
Alternative Options
If you're looking for a vehicle with the cargo space and capabilities of the Ridgeline, the Honda Pilot offers a roomy cabin, V6 engine, and many of the same active safety features. It's the perfect SUV for outdoor adventures and combines refinement with plenty of hauling capabilities. If you’re more focused on finding a comfortable people-hauler, you should check out the Honda Odyssey. Full of family-friendly technologies, an expansive interior, and an easy-to-use infotainment system, the Odyssey provides plenty of utility.
