For the spirited driver, Hyundai offers a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that produces 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. In the Turbo R-Spec and Turbo Ultimate trims, that engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. A 7-speed EcoShift® Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) is standard for the Veloster Turbo and available on the Veloster Turbo Ultimate.
For the mildly insane, the Veloster N offers a whole new world of performance. The Theta II 2.0 T-GDI is a 2.0-liter turbocharged gas direct-injection four-cylinder engine that produces 250 horsepower with the Standard Package and up to 275 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque with the Performance Package. Packed into the lightweight frame of the Veloster, those numbers translate into some serious power.

To get all that power to the ground, Hyundai spent time fine-tuning the suspension for precision. Utilizing multi-link rear suspension gave Hyundai the ability to create a precise handling experience without sacrificing ride quality. Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control System (TCS) increase confident driving, thanks to the vehicle's ability to adjust to a wide array of road conditions and driving situations.
