2022 CADILLAC XT6
Overview
Cadillac calls its 2022 XT6 the "full-sized SUV you didn't know you were waiting for," and they are right. It is bigger than the XT5, but not as big as the huge Escalade. It has a roomy third row and the XT6 can haul seven adults comfortably. it creates a new niche for Cadillac, for people who need a big vehicle but not so big as to be intimidating. With all that room you want to be able to relax, and you can. The XT6 can be configured with six captain’s chairs or three rows of seats. Inside there is luxury everywhere, with wood, carbon fiber, leather, and metallic accents all coming together for a very impressive ride. Technology also delivers with phone, radio, and a library of apps that put the world at your fingertips, or at the sound of your voice.
The Perfect Ride For...
Families will love the XT6 with its interior room, luxurious appointments, and plenty of power to get you moving effortlessly. It starts with technology. From your smartphone or Bluetooth, you can use a plethora of apps to interact with the car and with the world. There are plenty of USB ports for your electronic devices as well as an up-to-date entertainment center to keep the kids happy. The interface for the entertainment system is an eight-inch touchscreen. It has a Bose 8-speaker sound system and wireless charging as standard equipment. An infotainment package adds navigation and a higher-level sound system.
This is a great car for families, but it is also good for those that need power and doesn't want to compromise too much on performance. There are two trim levels, Premium Luxury and Sport. The Sport model won't make you think you are in a sports car, but it does have a flair with 20-inch, 12-spoke alloy wheels, and sport features inside and out. It adds twin-clutch all-wheel drive, and if you add the platinum package you will have the power you need when you need it. The front-wheel drive XT6 should get 18 mpg in the city and 25 on the highway which is not bad for a vehicle that weighs 4,700 pounds.*
Drive and Handling
The luxury trim is standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that produces up to 237 horsepower. The Premium Luxury and Sport trims are powered by a 3.6-liter V6 that cranks out 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive is available. Cadillac added Electronic Precision Shift to the transmission, for ultimate control. The Premium trim is focused more on luxury and the Sport version leans toward performance. The Sport model has a torque-vectoring differential and specialized steering. A platinum package adds all the extras to either trim level. The XT6 can also tow 4,500 pounds.
Safety features abound and a lot of them are standard. Automatic emergency braking and pedestrian braking are both standard equipment. A rear vision camera and self-dimming headlights with cornering features are also part of the standard package. Automatic wipers, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keeping assistance come with the XT6 at all levels. Also standard is blind-spot monitoring and lane-change alert.

Alternative Options
If you need the maximum amount of space and luxury, take a look at the iconic Escalade. It doesn’t get more opulent than Cadillac’s most popular SUV. For those who need the versatility of a crossover, the 2022 XT5 is promising. It’s large enough that you won’t feel cramped but small enough to easily navigate busy streets.
