2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Overview

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee proves that you don’t have to compromise between having a capable off-roader and a sumptuous luxury SUV. For 2023, the five-seater Grand Cherokee adopts the same fresh exterior and interior styling as its larger siblings, including the seven-seat Grand Cherokee L. The rugged yet refined exterior gives way to a posh interior boasting a wealth of premium materials, including several grades of available leather seating and wood trim. You’ll find seven varieties of the 2023 Grand Cherokee, starting with the base Laredo and topping out at the Summit and Summit Reserve.

The Perfect Ride For…

Adventurous types in search of comfort and capability. The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee blends the best of both worlds with its off-road prowess and incredible luxury features. Available 16-way adjustable front seats feature memory and massage options for a more relaxing journey. The available Uconnect 5 10.1-inch touch screen includes advanced navigation features. Front passengers also have access to an available passenger-side touch screen display, complete with features for streaming online content. Audiophiles can opt for the available 950-watt McIntosh sound system, complete with 19 custom speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer.

Drive and Handling

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with your choice of three exciting engines. The standard motor is a 3.6L V6 equipped with electronic stop/start technology for improved efficiency. This mill delivers 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.  If you crave more power, then you’ll find the 5.7L HEMI V8 engine’s 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque more to your liking. You’ll also get up to 7,200 pounds of maximum towing capacity and fuel-saving technology that deactivates up to four cylinders at light loads. Both engines rely on an 8-speed automatic transmission to transmit power to the rear wheels or all four wheels via one of three available 4WD systems: Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II.

Meanwhile, 4xe models rely on a 2.0L inline-4 matched with a reinforced hybrid-electric drivetrain. The end result is 375 total system horsepower and an impressive 470 pound-feet of torque, not to mention a 6,000-pound max tow rating. Not only do you get up to 443 miles of estimated driving range, but also 24 miles of pure electric range.

Key Features

Quadra-Lift Air Suspension

Available on select trim levels, this feature provides extra ground clearance for overcoming obstacles under demanding off-road conditions. At highway speeds, the suspension automatically lowers the vehicle to save fuel by creating a more aerodynamic profile. The Quadra-Lift Air Suspension also includes electronic semi-active damping for a smoother, more predictable ride.

Active Driving Assist

This available feature uses the latest in radar and sensor technology to not only keep the 2023 Grand Cherokee centered in its lane, but also maintain a set distance from vehicles directly ahead. Available Hands-Free Active Driving Assist takes this a step further by enabling hands-free driving under specific road and weather conditions. These features are aimed at reducing driver fatigue.

Available Sway Bar Disconnect

Another trick feature that off-roaders will appreciate is the 2023 Grand Cherokee’s sway bar disconnect. Offered as standard on the Trailhawk, this feature automatically disengages the front sway bar when in 4-Low mode. The sway bar disconnect feature gives the front wheels a greater degree of articulation, which comes in handy for rock crawling or any other demanding off-road challenge.
