What’s New For 2024?

For 2024, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV remains largely unchanged versus the 2023 model, but Mitsubishi introduced a new top-level Platinum Edition model that features a special paint scheme of Alloy Silver and Platinum Black. The interior of the Platinum Edition model also gets upgrades with a silver trim around its gauges.

Real World Performance

Many people think that hybrid models sacrifice performance to achieve great fuel economy, and in many cases that’s true. The Outlander PHEV is the exception, not the rule. With up to 248 combined horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, the Outlander PHEV delivers snappy acceleration and a 6.6-second 0 to 60 mph time. The EPA-estimated all-electric range of 38 miles will give drivers the ability to run errands around town or go through their daily commute without any fuel at all. Even when fuel is needed, the Outlander PHEV gets an incredible 64 MPGe and a range of up to 420 miles before you need to fuel up again. 

MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension provide a smooth but precise ride, and ventilated disc brakes provide excellent stopping power. Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system offers seven drive modes to fine-tune the response and performance of the Outlander PHEV. Since the engine powers the Outlander PHEV’s front wheels and the twin motors power the rear, all-wheel drive is standard. When combined with respectable ground clearance and up to 1,500 pounds of towing capacity, the Outlander PHEV is surprisingly capable.
