Who’s It For?

Anything you could think of, the 2024 Toyota Tundra can do with remarkable ease. Haul a load of gardening supplies? Done, courtesy of its generous payload capacity. Tow your favorite bass boat to the lake? Done, thanks to a 12,000-lb towing capacity. Take on a gnarly trail leading to that one picturesque spot in the wilderness. Pick the TRD Pro and that’s done, too. Cruise comfortably for hours on end in comfort? Well, the Tundra can do that, too. The Tundra’s tough composite bed means you won’t have to worry about dents, dings, and scratches as you’re loading up. And speaking of loading up, the available tailgate release bump switch gives you hands-free capability when you need it most. Just bump the left taillight and the tailgate comes down. When it comes to luxury, the Platinum, 1794 Edition, and Capstone trims are the ones to choose. The Platinum offers supple leather seating and subdued brightwork, whereas the 1794 Edition goes all-out with western-themed details, including available Saddle Brown leather and walnut wood-grain trim. The Capstone stands out with large 22-inch alloy wheels, semi-aniline leather-trimmed seats, and a distinctive two-tone interior.

Real World Performance

The 2024 Toyota Tundra comes standard with the i-FORCE 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, offered in two different states of tune depending on your chosen trim level. In the base SR trim, it pumps out a solid 348 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. In other trims, the power is turned up to 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Then there’s the i-FORCE MAX, which combines the 3.4-liter mill with an electric motor for a total of 437 horsepower and an eye-popping 583 pound-feet of torque. Regardless of trim choice, all Tundra models rely on a 10-speed automatic transmission for power delivery. Not only does the Tundra offer rear coil springs for better ride comfort, but certain trims include Adaptive Variable Suspension for improved load leveling and towing stability.

When it comes to off-road capability, the 2024 Tundra rises to the occasion with an assortment of ground-pounding goodies. Crawl Control automatically takes over throttle and brake modulation duties with up to five settings to toggle through, which are handy on demanding terrain. An available electronically locking rear differential allows for better traction at the rear wheels. An available 3-inch lift kit gives equipped Tundra models a boost when it comes to surmounting those daunting obstacles. These features can be found on the TRD Pro and Tundra models optioned with the 4x4 TRD Off-Road package.
